About UE Religious Life
As a United Methodist church-related institution, UE offers an active Religious Life program and a variety of ways in which religious commitment may be expressed through worship, service, study and fellowship. Students of many faiths attend the University of Evansville. Every week there is a Protestant worship service as well as a Catholic Mass in UE's Neu Chapel.
The University of Evansville's Neu Chapel
University Worship: 10:30 a.m. on Sundays during the school year. No Services when school is on breaks.
UE is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and University Chaplain the Rev. Dr. Tammy Gieselman describes the school's worship services as "high church in blue jeans." Services include weekly Communion and music ranging from contemporary music to traditional hymns, played on instruments ranging from the organ to guitar and banjo.
Attendance varies through the school year, from as high as 250 to as low as 60. Attendees are students, faculty and staff, UE alumni and neighborhood residents.
Neu Chapel also offers Catholic Masses at 1 p.m. Sundays and 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, officiated by different area priests. All services are open to the community.
