Soter

An Italian from the Campagna, Pope/St. Soter, like Sts. Paul and Clement, wrote to the troubled church at Corinth. The pope also sent gifts to the congregation. During his tenure (c. 166-c. 174), Easter became an annual celebration. No records of his death survive, but he is remembered among the martyrs.
